Here’s her review of this wine: “I am floored by the incredible value delivered by this blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Sangiovese. The 2016 I Veroni shows attractive darkness and thick color saturation. The bouquet unfolds with a long succession of dark fruit, cherry and spice aromas. This wine also has a well-developed savory side with tobacco and leather. With 50,000 bottles made, this excellent bargain should be easy to locate. [The winemaker] Lorenzo Mariani is an overachiever, and his I Veroni estate makes some of the world's best Vin Santo sweet wines. The dry table wines are equally delicious and are prized for their nuanced elegance and grace.”
