I had not experienced this wine before yesterday. It’s an excellent, full-flavored, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend that should go well with pork, red meats, and nothing else except a glass. From the international Wine Report: “The 2020 ‘The Best Part’ Vin de France Rouge begins with aromas of black raspberries and dark cherries that are joined by spices, lavender, wild herbs and hints of chocolate all coming together. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins and notable acidity that persists all the way through the finish. This is a very approachable wine that is drinking nicely on the young side.” The rating? A solid 90. Longevity: Through 2028. I’ve seen it sub $15.
