This is an absolutely delicious red wine from Tuscany that can be categorized as a “Super Tuscan,” given its reliance on something other than Sangiovese: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. According to International Wine Report, “The 2019 Castelli di Grevepesa 'Strade di Toscana' is a lovely showing. It offers pretty bright red fruits and sweet red berries which are woven together with spices, florals, leather, herbs and hints of tobacco. This possesses a gorgeous medium body and a nicely polished texture with lots of energy and poise through the finish. This shows a wonderful sense of freshness when served at cellar temperature, and is drinking beautifully at this early stage.” IWR rated it at an impressive 92 points and noted it should be drinking well through 2025. At this writing, Wine Library was offering the quaff at $12.99/bottle.
