A longtime favorite of mine, I was anxious to try a sip; that’s all I had time for. WOW! Delish. I kept it open overnight and, 20 hours later, poured a glass. WOWWOW!! Even better! Any reviews? You bet, with the lead review from Vinous Media, now even more respected than Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate. The reviewer, Josh Raynolds, had this to say: “Brilliant magenta. Smoke-tinged dark berries, cracked pepper and a hint of gaminess on the pungent nose. Chewy and tightly focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that unfurl and become sweeter on the back half. Lingers with very good persistence on the finish, which features silky tannins and a strong echo of sweet blue fruit. This wine is ridiculously easy to drink and delivers really great value.” He awarded the wine 90 points – outstanding – and said it would last through 2024. For only $15! Ooops. Wait. For only $10. Ooops. Wait. I paid $5.58 per bottle. That deal seems to have been bought out, however, so now a good price is $6.95. Buy it by the case.
